The following is a brief guide to assist the Veterans Services Chairmen or the applicant to determine where a referral should be made:

| To apply for Home Assistance or Long Term Care under the Veterans Independence Program | Local Veterans Affairs office |
| To apply for funeral and burial assistance | Local Veterans Affairs Office or Last Post Fund |
