Jack Gemmell
Vice-President, Ontario Provincial Command
- Military Policeman in The Royal Canadian Air Force from 1963 to 1968.
- Member of Branch 138, Merritton in 2001 to present.
- Held many positions including Poppy Chair, Veterans Service Officer, Second Vice President, First Vice President and three years as President
- Served as Zone B5 Deputy Commander in 2009 and 2011, and Zone B5 Commander in 2013
- Serve as chair for Honours and Awards in District B.
- Elected District B Deputy Commander in 2017 and 2019.
- Elected District B Commander in 2022 until end of term in 2025.
- In May of 2025 he was elected to the position of Vice President of Ontario Command.
- Awarded Life Membership by Branch 138 in 2015.
- Recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2015, and the King Charles III Coronation Medal in 2025.
- Received the Royal Canadian Legion Meritorious Service Medal in 2022.
- Volunteer driver for Family and Children Services in the Niagara Region for over 5 years.
- Volunteered with the Canada Revenue Agency Volunteer Income Tax Program helping seniors and low-income families file tax forms.
- Currently serving his 3rd term as Vice Chair of the Tri-District Hospital Committee
- Sat on the Homeless Veterans committee for the Niagara Region.
- Jack and his wife Marlene have a son, Chris, and two daughters Kelly and Becki who have blessed them with 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
